Sabrina Carpenter To Star In Alice In Wonderland
The Espresso Singer Will Also Produce The Film
It's official, Sabrina Carpenter is stepping into Wonderland, not just as its leading lady, but also as producer of a brand-new live-action movie musical inspired by Lewis Carroll's timeless tale.
While the film's title remains under wraps, several details have emerged. The project will be written and directed by Lorene Scafaria, known for her work on Seeking a Friend for the End of the World and Hustlers. Drawing directly from Carroll's original novel, this adaptation promises a fresh take on the beloved story.
Though Carpenter is has dominated the pop charts with smash hits like Espresso" and Please Please Please', she's no stranger to the screen or stage. Her career began on the Disney Channel, with roles in films such as Emergency and The Hate U Give, and she even made her Broadway debut in Mean Girls: The Musical. This project marks her blending her musical prowess with her acting roots.
Set in the whimsical world of Lewis Carroll's Victorian classic, this reimagining follows Alice, a curious young girl who tumbles down a rabbit hole into a realm where logic is turned on its head and absurdity reigns supreme. The project is a personal passion for Carpenter, who reportedly pitched the concept to the studio over a year ago.
